3 Tips To Finding Your Style

Some uber fun with the talented Harley Goul

Style! What does it mean and how can we all capture it? I see style as a creative expression of who I am that can be translated in what I wear. I love fashion and the process of putting things together in ways most people might not. That's a big part of why I'm a personal stylist. I work to help my clients navigate what THEIR style is and of course, the process has to be FUN!! We have this moment that is happening right now where we get to determine what we wear, how we look and feel about our bodies without prescribing to anyone else's agenda. Can I get an amen for that please :) Here's a few of my "go to" tips to finding your style.

Listen to what speaks to you

No voodoo or magical chanting here. Just a real look at what styles you find yourself feeling great in. Your t-shirts and comfy pants don't count because come on, those are a given. Wearing comfy pants as I type :) It's that blouse, dress or jeans you wear all the time that makes you feel confident and looks great on you. Get more of that! It could be the blouse is a classic style, start venturing more into finding styles that speak that same thread of classic.

Save what inspires you

Yep, that Pinterest board is a great idea. I love when my clients show me their style board. It allows me to see their wishes, loves and style thread. If you see an outfit you love, take a picture of it, remove it from the magazine and pin it on a style board. This allows you to see the styles that you find yourself gravitating towards and have a great reference to use for "what to wear".

Experiment and kick fear to the curb

What's fun about fashion is the ability to change our minds on what we want to wear and look at a moments notice. It doesn't have to be this serious, I'm going to marry you commitment. There's a lot of stores that offer similar styles that are budget friendly. If there's a style you want to try, just do it.  I've got your back. Trying on, can be a pain at times but the reward is seeing what works for you. The big win here is you're taking a little "love on you" time for yourself and could potentially find your new favorite outfit simply by trying.
